ABC of closures

A brief lesson in closure types.

As we often receive questions on this subject, we decided to write a blog article about closures.

Fundamentally, the finish of a bottle determines the shape of the closure. If a bottle is only available with a certain finish, said bottle can only be sealed in a certain way. Naturally, this limits product design somewhat.
Regardless of the fact that some products require certain closure types (e.g.: sparkling wines need a cork and an agraffe closure because of the internal pressure), there are now countless sealing systems that are broadly applicable. First of all, wine.
